Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and OneSpartanburg, Inc. are partnering to advance the educations of highly skilled, in-demand medical professionals – creating opportunities for associates to complete a higher level of education or earn national certifications.

Spartanburg Regional and OneSpartanburg formalized the partnership during a signing event at Beaumont Mill on Sept. 6.

“Spartanburg Regional is dedicated to workforce development in this community, and because of the support from our partners, this day and this signing is possible,” said Lori McMillan, vice president of professional services at Spartanburg Regional.

Through the Re:Degree initiative, a college navigator is working one on one to map out success plans for healthcare workers in two key focus areas: imaging services and laboratory.

In the area of imaging services, the program is addressing national staffing challenges for computed tomography (CT) and nuclear medicine (NM) technologists. The program is also helping those working in laboratories to grow their careers by earning bachelor’s or master’s degrees.

“This collaboration represents a lot of hard work and is a significant step in moving forward with empowering employees,” said Ron Garner, OneSpartanburg’s chief talent officer. “Support is key here. Education is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth. Today, we bring this partnership to life.”
