Administers targeted doses of radiation as prescribed by a radiologist to a patient to treat cancer and other diseases. Assists in preparing sealed radioactive materials, calculates actual treatment dosages, and prepares equipment such as immobilization, treatment and protection. Requires registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with appropriate oncology certification required.
